Got the Mass Effect deal. Game doesn't go 1080. Heard there was a high res pack?

The ME Configure menu scans your hardware first and while it's doing that it may not show all resolutions available. You just have to wait like 5 seconds after opening the configure menu.

There are instructions in the readme file of part one on editing the INI file. It doesn't take long, and the game looks gorgeous in 1440p with the 4k textures. The only downside is that it takes up another 6gb or so, but that's not an issue to me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have to run ME1 through TexMod, or does it actually replace the textures, and becomes an integral part of the game? Thanks again!

"The new version is much larger, its because of the game engine and the fact that we are now replacing the files directly, this avoids all TexMod glitches. Expect near vanilla performance with minor hitching as the game engine loads the high-res textures. overall much better performance than TexMod and zero graphical glitches."

There are 2 ways of modding the textures. The way I linked avoids TexMod altogether. Once you follow the directions, you just run the game.

Yes, you have to download all 9 parts. That's the first step in the readme.

The textures, and shadows look much better now. I've also force-enabled ambient occlusion, 16xAF, and SMAA, so overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm glad Nicodimus mentioned it. The only potential problem is that the other two games' textures will probably look quite poor in comparison when I finally get around to playing them. ;-)
