Is it possible to flash a gpu's bios with a bios from different brand?

with both gpu being the same model of course.

I would like to flash the bios from my factory overclocked Gigabyte gts 250 (GV-N250OC-1GI) to a stock clocked PNY gts 250 so I can have then run in sli at max speed.

Is this likely to succeed or do I risk bricking a card?

I'm no expert but that does not at all sound like a good idea to me.

If you don't want the GTS 250 anymore, you could get get rid of it. No need to make it suffer.

Sure it's possible to flash a different BIOS, but what you're trying to do doesn't make sense. Why would you flash a slower BIOS onto your card?

yeah... don't do that. It's entirely possible to do, but pointless in your situation.

You might have misunderstood me. I mean to flash the faster overclocked bios from the gigabyte card over the stock clocked bios on the pny card.
And this is just a temporary fix for me until volcanic islands come out.

I had a thought that since the gigabyte card has a 2 pin fan and the pny have a 4 pin fan header then maybe it would not work due to fan profile issues.

Oh. Why not just overclock the PNY card yourself?

I manually adjusted the pny card to the gigabyte's factory oc settings and fur mark showed artifacting. And it turns out that nvflash will not allow different brands to be flashed due to mismatching IDs.
