Think of how awesome gta would be if you could collapse skyscrapers with rocket launchers, or not come to a dead stop when hitting tiny trees at least. Are we close to ditching polygons entirely?

Also how far are we from grass that's animated in real time? I think grass physics are quite unappreciated

Pretty far.

Like at least 10 years or more far.

I think Starfighter lets you destroy absolutely everything except water. This is a game from 1994/1995.

What do you mean how far away? We can do it now. They just don't want to spend the time and effort to put it into their game.

We're not "far" from it. Its just practical to have it in every game considering the sacrifice and the cost it can require.

Maybe we're close if everybody becomes willing to pay 200$ for their games.
