Does going from a small monitor to a bigger one effect game performance?

Yea fps tend to decrease by 5% per 3-4 inches, unless you compensate with better hardware.

Really? Maybe I don't understand the measurement then.

When you're gaming and the game tells you the FPS, or when you run FRAPS and it shows the fps, that doesn't change based on the monitor you are using does it? As long as the resolution is 1920 x 1080 isn't it the same on 20 inches as it is on 50 inches?

Or are we talking about measuring it on the display itself?

You are going from 19 to 22 inches, that is a total of 18% increase in monitor. Is that about how much of an FPS loss you are experiencing?

Higher resolution means more pixels on the screen. More pixels means that the graphics card (mainly) has to work that much harder to throw them up there.

Did your 19" monitor run at 1920x1080? The standard for 19" monitors is 1440x900 or 1600x900.
