Does anyone know of a fix for Crysis 2 crashing with patch 1.9?

It's the issue as detailed here

http://www.mycrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=33496&sid=963a8b3ba42b49566fac21067ec8e2d4

17 pages and no fix. . .

I've had issues with crashing when loading as well from time to time. Seems to happen in the earlier stages mostly.
EA blocked further support in order to force out a sequel, so don't count on a 1.9.1 or 2.0 patch.

The thread you linked basically said you need a cracked/fixed .exe to fix the problem.

Eh, I was wondering if anyone knew of an official fix. Guess I'll have to crack my own game to play it then.

You can't even start a new game?
Try reinstalling. Also, uninstall any mods you might be using.

I had no issue with the game so far. There's probably a few chosen one.
