Hey guys, so I've been exclusively gaming on my laptop for a while now and in need of a new machine. I've got a ton of games on Steam that I can't play because of my crappy laptop

Would you guys recommend buying a pre-built PC , or building my own? If so, would you kindly post a build that I can follow?

Btw I have no experience whatsoever with building PCs so yeah.

Thanks!

Do you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS?

A $1,000 PC you build you self will be much much better than pretty much any prebuilt PC you'll find.

It really is not that hard to build a PC your self.
The only tool you should need is a Philips screw driver.
All the parts are designed to just plug into the motherboard and are designed in a way that only the correct part and cable can go where it is supposed to and are also often labeled as well.

If you type in 1000 into the search bar at the bottom you'll find many topics about builds with a $1,000 budget.

If you need a monitor, Windows, mouse and KB, you're not going to have an awesome build for $1000 including that stuff, because that'll be about half the cost. Let me tinker with pcpartpicker and see how low I can get it.

You can get a monitor for 100 and Windows for 100 and a mouse and keyboard for ~20 total. 220 is not half of 1000.

You can get a decent monitor, mouse, and keyboard for $200. That leaves you with a pretty decent build for around $800.

Something to work with. I didn't look too hard for the mouse but I figure that one is at least functional. You can get cheaper speakers and a better mouse if you want or a cheaper monitor.

$800 without monitor mouse or keyboard or windows.

Could probably lower it a bit..
