PS3 is still a great investment IMO. So many exclusive great games on offer. --- PLAYING - Final Fantasy XIV (PC), Shadow of the Colossus (PS3), Metro LL (PC) MOST WANTED - GTAV, Lightning Returns, FFXV, Watchdogs, X, KHIII, FFX/X-2 HD

PS3 is good for its exclusives, and it's not too bad as a blu ray player. Wii (and Wii u I guess) are good for legally playing a lot of older games. 360 has very little to offer a PC gamer.
Two years ago I would've said either. But now definitely a PS3, they're cheap and some of the exclusives are excellent. Plus MGS 2 & 3 in HD. --- "What we've got here is a failure to communicate!" "I'm you, I'm your shadow!"

I got a PS3 a while back on Cowboom. I'm enjoying it so far. I wanted a Blu-ray player anyways, so the upgrade to a PS3 for playing games was a simple choice.

If I had to get one I'd get the PS3, for one thing the PS3 has far more exclusives (and far more diverse exclusives), for another it can double as a Blu-Ray player (and a pretty decent one at that) if you don't happen to own one yet. --- Asus P8Z68-V LE | Core i7 2600K | 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 | Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Windforce OC PS3 | PS2 | PSP| Wii | 3DS | DS | X-Box 360 | X-Box | NES

I picked up a few system/console-exclusive games for both systems at Gamestop (like 8 games for a total of $30)
So you got crappy xbox games for about the same price, or more, than I spend on Steam.
I got 5 Prince of Persia games for $12. --- #1 LoL Poster NA: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/954437-league-of-legends/63627116

I'd say take a look at Christmas for used/refurbished consoles. I suspect a lot of the big chains will be flogging them off cheap so they don't get lumbered with them.
They both have some pretty good exclusives going for them, racing games I always find to be better on consoles, and the 360 at least (No idea as to the PS3) has pretty good media streaming from your PC, so if you don't have the PC hooked up to the TV, its very tasty for that.
