Simply put, I'm planning to install Windows 8, my only concern is game compatibility. I recall there being some trouble with different games, and I just wanted to ask if people perhaps knew what all games with issues are, or if perhaps there is a master list somewhere.

Thanks for any help.

There are no issues when it comes to games for Windows 8.

Only issue with that OS is it's really meant for tablets and is just very awkward for desktops and laptops.

I haven't had any issues with Windows 8. I had some issues with Windows 7, but I haven't even had those issues in a while. My guess is certain issues have been fixed. Windows 8 isn't really that different, other than the UI which I immediately skip ( at least with Windows 8.1 ).

Thanks for the quick responses, friend only mentioned a slight problem with Dark Souls, which may have just been bad luck, otherwise, if there really is nothing, guess I'm installing it tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Dark Souls is an extremely poorly ported game (although a very good game), so I think the problems your friend is having has to stem from that rather than Win8.

The version of GFWL that is bundled with Dark Souls is too old. You need to manually update it first.

If you have 7 there is no reason to go 8.

Eight is much easier and smoother to use, though, plus nicer looking.

Aye, it's even easier to use than older versions of windows with a mouse and keyboard.
