I have to say, the one thing I REALLY hate about f2p games is...

The constant game-size updates.
You download a 5GB game, and the very next day, you have a 5GB update to download.
Remember when updates for large, multi-GB games were maybe ~200mb at most?

Remember when those 200mb patches still took all day because 95% of people were still on 56k? Major Everquest patches @ 2.35kb/s

I can download 5GB in about an hour these days.

Source games still have small updates, UT3 had small updates. Even Crysis 2 had small updates.

And, that F2P Ridge Racer on Steam.

Even small updates are kinda annoying. It's irritating when I have automatically gotten the latest patch and the servers haven't

Yeah, some games are bad at this. Planetside 2: oh, we just tweaked some things, here's a 2 GB update. BF3 isn't even free and its updates are the most ridiculous I've seen from any game....4 GB for an update and then 6 GB for DLC? All at once? The worst part is origin doesn't let you back up games like steam does, so i'd need to do this TWICE to keep both of my comps up to date. War Thiunder has some massive updates for some reason, 3 GB is commonplace.

Before I got decent internet, I hated updates. Heck, i raged when valve made me spend an hour updating tf2 every 3 days. But when planetside 2 and BF3 happened to release updates at the same time, the amount of time it would take to finish downloading everything would literally be days. Now, sitting at 7 mbps I'm like "meh", so an update takes an hour, I'll do something else, an hour isn't bad.

Yeah, BC2 was just as bad. Still takes, like, an hour to update from install on 6mbit.
