I dont know about others f2p games, but planetside 2 first install is something like 9-13GB, and the patches (monthly) are usually in the 400mbs and hotfixes in the 30mbs.

Where do you live? I live in a heavily populated city and pay $35 a month for 1Mbps internet. Do you pay upwards of $100 a month?

I remember using the better part of a day/night downloading the shareware version of a game from a BBS/website, so it doesn't bother as much, though it is somewhat of an annoyance.

I've seen PS2 patches up to 4 GB. That's not par for the course, but it happens. If you're in the test server it's even worse. Walk away from that for a month and you're greeted with up to 8 GB of patches.

I never had to patch any ps2 game. probably because it wasn't possible.

1 remeber 1200-2400 baud and aol having updates every time you went to a new page.........

Aol's neverwinter taking 4-8 hourd to dl and corrupted files making you do it all over again in fact i did a happy dance when my 14.4 modem did it in 2 hours.........
