The only thing I've seen any game need, even some of the more demanding stuff I own like Saints Row the Third, is more Dedicated Video RAM.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
8.1 GB RAM
Pixel Shader Version 4.1
Vertex Shader Version 4.1

Problem is my Dedicated Video RAM is 64MB.

What can I get away with if all I'm trying to do is play things like Spelunky Amnesia, FTL, Fez, Trine 2, Binding of Isaac, etc.

The only big budget retail games I have are SRIII, Diablo III, Civ V, Borderlands II, L4D2 and TF2. Of which Diablo, TF2 and MAYBE BLII are all I'd want to play.

How budget can I go to fix the DVR problem?

What you need is an actual graphics card, I'm guessing. Chances are you're running integrated graphics. Something like a HD 7770 or 7750 will probably get you the results you need. Do you have a pre-built PC?

Probably like $80-100 or so. 7750/7770, as the above poster said.

if you update the drivers for your integrated graphics you might be able to get better res settings. We had this problem at work with new monitors.. just updated the intel drivers and bam new and better res settings.

get a Radeon 7770 a great little card for about a $100.00 and it uses very little power while running at blistering 1ghz.
