Help with this sub-$200 build

I'm strictly looking to get a very cheap computer to substitute the one I'm currently using (quite old now, and is constantly failing me), which is mainly just used for writing assignments and web surfing, until my parents can provide me with a laptop for college (this will be at least a year from now).

Anything absolutely awful with this build? Any suggestions? Anything that just won't end well with these parts?

And yes, I do have the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and OS covered.

1. I just threw up.

2. Do you need an optical drive?

get 4gb of ram instead for 8 dollars more. Other than that your build will be fine.

Really no difference in quality here...so...go with this over the other hard drive Tc.

I don't really see the need for 4gb of ram on this build (again, I really won't be doing much), which is why I opted for just 2, but sure, I'll make the switch.

And okay, KMD, I'll get that hard drive instead. Thanks.

Gero, no, I won't be needing an optical drive.

To everyone else who comes across my topic, yes, I'm aware that this is an atrocious build for most here, but I'm definitely serious about building a temporary, cheap replacement for my current computer.

Oh my heavens, it can run Linux AND Android?! And here I thought that Android was a form of Linux.

I just threw up again. This board is terrible on my stomach.

Don't be cheap and get 4GB RAM. 2GB is seriously bad.

Maybe I'm overlooking something, but that motherboard doesn't appear to have any IDE connectors for the $10 drive that was suggested. I think you're gonna need to stick to SATA drives.
