How's this PC?

#1chequelotsPosted 9/13/2013 2:56:57 PM
It's an Acer Aspire V3. It has the following:

.AMD Quad-Core Processor A8-4500M with Turbo CORE techonology up to 2 GHz
.AMD Radeon HD 7640G with 512 MB graphics System Memory
.15.6 HD LED LCD
.6 GB DDR3 Memory
.750 GB HDD
.Acer Nplify 802. 11a/g/n + BT 4.0
.6 cell Li-ion battery
.DVD-Super Multi DL drive

I'm not an expert on what's needed to play PC games but I am somewhat curious. Would a laptop with these features be able to play a game like say....Arkham Asylum or Sonic Generations? If not then okay oh well. And if so is it possible to get any controllers to play them with?

For gaming, pretty poor at this point. For plenty of other things, it's fine.

Scroll down to game benchmarks for an idea of what you could expect. It could probably do most recent titles at low.

As long as you've got usb ports you can hook a wired 360 controller to one of them.

I don't know about Arkham Asylum specifically, but you should be able to play contemporary games on that setup. Obviously, you have to be realistic about the graphical settings, the resolution, and frame rate, and it may take some fiddling to find some compromise between visual fidelity and playability. Just don't expect too much.

It'll run everything better than a PS3 or 360 would.

No, I'm not. PS360 is pretty dated.
As for if it would run decently, depends on your idea of decent. Medium-low at borderline unplayable framerates, just like a console.
