Why does my computer never fail to run like crap?

Its brand new, an ASUS model laptop, and everything downloaded on it is something that I paid for, with the exception of the free version of malwarebytes and motionjoy to use my ps3 controller for gaming.

Everything is authentic. All games bought from either steam or origin.

This is what happens. Before, I had some...I guess we will call not authentic stuff on my computer. Eventually massive slowdowns started happening so I decided to live my computer gaming life the legit way. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I used the "delete all files and reinstall windows" option twice because I kept being non legit until I finally decided it wasn't worth it.

This time, I deleted all files and reinstalled windows and like I said everything is authentic this time.

Every time I have used the delete all files and reinstall windows option, my computer works like a charm again with 0 problems.

I have 8GB Ram and 1TB of storage. The games that I own, that I bought, are Tomb Raider collection (every tomb raider ever including the new one), the maw, duke nukem forever, borderlands goty, kingdom of amalur reckoning, crysis 2 maximum edition, the darkness 2.

My computer is slowing down again. Not massively like before, but I'm having stupid problems like when I click on a simple link on gamefaqs or anywhere else it will randomly freeze and then unfreeze and load the page.

Similarly when I scroll down on a page sometimes it will freeze for about 1 minute and then unfreeze and then freeze again and it's like WTF. Are you serious?

I know computers aren't perfect. And I'm not a computer wiz, but im doing everything legit this time. What am I doing wrong now? It's frustrating.

I figured with 8gb ram that I wouldn't have trouble scrolling down a page. This confuses me.

How does a pro maintain his own computer to prevent crap like this from happening?

sounds like a browser problem.

I had the same issues with Chrome. I switched to firefox and it seems to have fixed everything. It makes no sense to me, but it worked.

Give it a shot, switch your browser and try it out.

So it's just web browsing that's slow?

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card? Their drivers have been absolutely terrible lately. I have to use a driver that's months old or my mouse will freeze and just slow down my PC.

Its fast, but with random freezing. I figured that would be an issue with the computer and not the internet. It's probably the fact that IE sucks.

Is it possible to get viruses from games on steam? At all? I mean I know Valve kicks ass but I swear it seems impossible to stop viruses from spreading even if you're a bad ass company.

I don't even know how to check my specs. I used to use Run ---> dxdiag but now that I have Windows 8 and they took out the start menu (I love windows 8 but that was a STUPID idea) I have no idea how to check It now.

You could Google the exact make and model of your laptop.
