Go with an older but better quality company with a highly rated board or a board with more up to date features for ivy-e but not as good quality IMO?

I'd say wait it out a bit. Particularly considering you don't have a SB-e CPU to upgrade the BIOS with if you end up with a motherboard with an older BIOS.
//Intel// Core i7 2600k @ 4.2 //Gigabyte// Z68X-UD7-B3 //MSI// 3x GTX 580 Lightning SLi
//Corsair// 650D / H100 / 120 GB Force 3 / 12 GB Dominator / AX1200

I ended up picking up the RIVE for my 4930K. It's been great so far, and I don't really have any complaints. You also don't need a CPU to update the BIOS which was a major plus for me. I'm not sure if the EVGA Dark X79 has any feature like that.
Many Bothans died to bring you this post.

Did you consider any other board or was the RIVE the only choice for you?
