Does Google track everything you do on an Android phone?

I just bought a Galaxy Nexus and since it is a Google phone requiring you to sign in with your gmail, does Google pretty much know everything you do on your phone? I really don't like to support Google knowing that they love to collect every little piece of info about you, that's why I use Firefox instead of Chrome, but did I just pretty much pick up a NSA phone?

as if any phone weren't an NSA phone

Google tracks everything you do anytime you use anything they own including the search engine.

This has been known even before the NSA scandal.

The NSA monitors 99% of the types of phones out there.

I don't know what Google tracks outside of their apps/services, but If you're that concerned try a custom ROM such as cyanogenmod (will void your warranty though).

But I think there was a report saying the NSA can crack most phones anyway (don't know the details).

Well I might as well start using Chrome then to just make my overall experience really connected.

They track you no matter what.
Pretty much every website has google analytics on it now.

You could always try making an elaborate plan to a crime on paper, and then saving a picture of that on your phone. Then you can see if any police come to get you, if not then Google tracks nothing. If they do get you, let us know so I don't have to suffer.
