How long could you game on this computer?

How long do you think this computer could play games on medium settings for at 1080P? This is just out of curiosity as I'm fully aware it's stupid to go all out like this.

A couple months at least. It'll drop performance pretty hard when PS4 comes out and games get better looking though.

Pretty much this. I'm still using a rig that I've built in late 2008 and can run most PC games on its highest settings at a playable framerate and at 1920 by 1080.

You haven't had to upgrade? What are your specs?

I still play DOS games... so a REALLY long time. How long will it play the newest games at medium or better? Can't say for sure but I'd imagine at least as long as the next console generation (~7 years?).

I know it was pointed at him, but I have a phenom II 965BE and a GTX 460 from 2010 that can still play most games on high@ 1080p. Medium if you want 60fps in newer games. I suspect I can get at least two more years out of my rig at medium settings.

SLI 780s will last a lot longer considering you want medium settings at 1080p. The clincher is the resolution. The standard will definitely go from 1080p to something higher in the next 10 years so I think it would be extremely easy for SLI 780s to maintain 60fps@1080p on only medium settings. Not to mention only a small handful of games each year 'push the boundaries of graphics' while most other games are decent at creating a middle ground.
