Has anyone tried Kerbal Space Program?

The board is pretty dead for it, but it's on sale on Steam and it looks interesting. Trying to figure out if it's more of a comedy game or an actual space sim.

Try the demo out, I was curious about it too but tried the demo and it wasn't for me.
A ton of people love it though

It's actually a pretty hardcore space sim. It's a cool game, but I personally just can't figure it out.

You're going to want mods to get the most out of the game since it's in alpha.

Mechjeb for one is pretty much required for guidance and such. There's little chance you'll get far out of Kerbin(Earth) orbit without it.

I for one love the game, only the lack of any multiplayer at all is kind of a disappointment.

Another idea I had was the spy/sniper being able to climb into the soldier's rocket launcher and be launched across the map, dealing more damage, but no splash.

Good game if you love space flight. But be warned, it is a very hardcore space sim but can be so much fun once you get past the learning curb.

I do like astronomy, but I'm a little hesitant to buy a game that's still in alpha. Maybe it'll be more polished if I wait for them to finish it?

Might be awhile before that happens. It is very playable in its current state and with mods the game can be even more expanded.

You can still build something like this in the games current state.

I do like astronomy,

This game has very little to do with actual astronomy. It's more about rocket science... if you ever wondered just how much of an achievement it was that man got to set foot on the moon, try playing this game. You'll feel like it's an achievement when you can get into a stable orbit.

Then you'll be able to make a pass by the mun, but not enough fuel to land... then maybe you'll be able to land but it'll be a challenge to gracefully land...

If none of that sounds interesting, skip it.... otherwise, it's a great game and you'd have a ton of fun with it even if it's not a fully finished product.

The price will be going up the closer it gets to completion, but if you get it now updates will be free.

And I've had a ball with it, super tough but rewarding. I've taken a break for a little while, waiting for the career mode.

It's better than any other alpha that comes to mind. Starforge is trash, Prison Architect is meh, Towns was crappy.
