also for the games that dont have native controller support just use xpadder. it is a handy program that simulates kb/m buttons being pressed when you use a controller and you can customise what each button does etc. Also the early versions of it a free if you can find them floating around somewhere (alternatively you can pay for the latest version).

Playing the SS games with Xpadder seems like it would be a pain in the ass.

Or you could download Joy2Key which has the same functionality and is free.
