I rarely upgrade my PC, and when I do I have to re-research mobo, processors and GPUs to see what's good now. Ironically this is his first PC build I helped him buy parts for and build. Anyway, I'm running a Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 right now and an Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6Ghz and 4 GB of ram. He wants $90 bucks for it. I'm not sure when I'm upgrading my rig. I can still play enough games and I'm not really worried about maxing everything out or anything. That said, would this be a worthwhile upgrade for the price or should I just save up for a new rig (whenever that is)?

It's a significant upgrade but if you don't need it you shouldn't spend the money for it.

The upgrade is too close. Yes it is rather cheap, but I don't think it is a worthy upgrade.

If that is a single fan XFX 6870 then $90 is way too much money.
I owned a single fan XFX 6870 and the thing was loud as all hell and ran rather warm.
Several reviews later on said the same thing, that it was loud and ran rather warm.
