Anyone who does any one thing for 16 hours a day has issues.

Agree. To be fair 16 hours a day is pushing it.

Let alone a hobby. I'm rarely awake for 16 hours a day, I would probably die if I gamed for that long.

"A computer is a general purpose device that can be programmed to carry out a set of arithmetic or logical operations. Since a sequence of operations can be readily changed, the computer can solve more than one kind of problem.

Conventionally, a computer consists of at least one processing element, typically a central processing unit (CPU) and some form of memory. The processing element carries out arithmetic and logic operations, and a sequencing and control unit that can change the order of operations based on stored information. Peripheral devices allow information to be retrieved from an external source, and the result of operations saved and retrieved.

The first electronic digital computers were developed between 1940 and 1945. Originally they were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred modern personal computers (PCs).[1] In this era mechanical analog computers were used for military applications."

Consoles are technically computers, they meet all the requirements, though they may not have the flexibility in their OS - this is of course an artificial restriction placed on them by the console OS designers.

Words

I wasn't saying they weren't. I'm saying some people who don't play video games call them "computer games" and I thought it was funny.

None of this is half as loony as MSNBC now saying we should ban assault rifles, even though the guy used a shotgun.

This. Why is it being reported he was using an AR-15? He used a shotgun, which was Joe Bidens answer just a few months ago to people wanting to protect themselves. If they are going to bash guns you would figure they would at least get their story straight.

Apparently he picked up an AR-15 from a person he killed. So technically he used both but only had the shotgun originally.

Clearly we need to ban automatic weapons in the military so that crazies won't take them. Oh, wait...

The AR-15 is also not an automatic weapon in it's civilian form, unless you're filing some serious paperwork with the ATF. Contrary to what millions of uninformed twits might think they don't just hand those out to anyone. That's beyond the point of the comment though. The shooter was on a military base and presumably could have come across military hardware. If we follow the unlogic of the "Ban em all crowd" we need to ban military hardware to keep it out of the hands of the mentally ill because clearly the mentally ill are worried about following the law.
