Is it worth spending the extra few bucks on higher clocked ram? Its mostly a gaming rig BTW.

This - the realworld difference between standard and overclocked RAM is minimal/unnoticeable in most situations - unless you happen to be using onboard video, where it can apparently have a big impact (which stands to reason as it's using RAM as makeshift VRAM).
