Anyone else surprised by the low averages on Humble Bundles?

It's actually not for charity, I've never given a cent to any of them in any bundle ever.

Why not?

Anyway I'm not really surprised, I only ever pay 1 penny over the average and for times like this since I really only want that ninja game (can't remember the name) I'm only gonna pay a dollar for it so I can get the steam key. There's probably lot's of people like me, we bring the average down.

I am not really surprised that the averages are lower now; there will be many who will not bother to pay above the BTA if they already own most/all of the games. Just look at how many times Bastion has been in a bundle (not to mention that it was something like -85% off in the last Steam sale).

Are those mostly decent games in Bundle 9? I don't actually have any of them.

I always pay $10 and give 100% to charity.

You can buy a $500 console and a $500 computer and have two crap machines, or you can spend $1000 building your own computer and have the best of both worlds.

I pay as little as possible, because I only care about the games.

If you really want to help people, go into a field that pays you to do so or do volunteer work. Giving money to charities is a crapshoot.

I think I would much rather donate to charity than work in a crappy job.

Thanks.

I give to the EFF every time. I just don't think Child's Play is a worthwhile use of money at all compared to other organizations. I'll also give to devs I like a lot, like Introversion.

Another idea I had was the spy/sniper being able to climb into the soldier's rocket launcher and be launched across the map, dealing more damage, but no splash.

A lot of it is that there are often only one or two games that people want, the rest, they'll never even play.

But yeah, mainly people being cheap.

Half the time (ok, more like 80% of the time) I actually only care about one game in the bundle. I pay what I feel like that game is worth to me and that's usually well over the average. Technically I'm still getting 10 games for $25 or whatever it was I donated, and that's still a steal (except I may wind up never playing 8 out of the 10 games).

Windows has the lowest average... If you look at Mac users, they pay more because they're used to paying more, and Linux users pay even more than that (I guess because they figure if they don't, then nobody will make games for linux).

But yeah, there's a ton of people paying a penny and getting the first round of games, or $1 so they can get steam keys.... so that drags the average way down.
