How is Agarest: Generations of War?

Is it more like FFT and less like a anime slideshow dating sim?

Not sure.

All I know is that the cover that they decided to advertise to the world with has 4 nearly naked women on it for no reason so you can bet it will have all kinds of virgin pandering anime nonsense.

Sick of the half-naked 14 year old anime characters in every damn game.

Steam Store Page
The "Soul Breed" system
Agarest takes place across 5 generations of heroes, starting with your first character, Leonhardt. During each generation you will build relationships with 3 different female party members, and at the end of each generation's story arc you must choose to marry one of the girls.

Your choice of marriage partner is restricted to girls who've grown fond of you over a particular generation. Your options are determined by your choices during conversations at certain points of the story.

The girl you choose as your wife - and the strength of their relationship with you - will determine the abilities of the main character in the next generation of the story. You'll have to experience multiple play throughs to see all of the character possibilities open to you! What heroes might you create?

As much as I'd love to see more turn-based strategy RPGs on PC, between that and some of the pictures they used for their Greenlight page I'll be avoiding this one for sure. Somehow I doubt I'll be missing anything.

the breeding system was not bad.whoever you choose as the wife determined the stats/weapon of your descendent so there were a lot of choices

Waits for someone to complain about the game not accommodating gay/lesbian relationships.

Yep, now I don't even want to think about purchasing the game.

I remember looking up stuff about the other Agarest games on 360 and PS3. I was told they're fun and not nearly as fanservice-y as the advertising leads people to believe.

Especially that Naughty Edition they had for the 360. That was just so over-the-top.
