My current tv is this model

Panasonic Viera TC-P50U2

I was curious if newer plasmas would provide much difference in video quality as that tv is just over two years old.

Thanks in advance.

Not by me. I was asking a similar question but people wanted to know my current model first.

The U2 was an entry-level 1080p set when it came out, so if you were to get a new TOP-OF-THE-LINE set then yes it would be a decent replacement. If you just buy another entry-level or mid-range set though then you'd just be wasting time and money.

I still probably wouldn't replace a 2-yr-old TV regardless of where it ranked at the time as long as it wasn't 720p or some nonsense. But, whatever, people do crazier things in life than that.
