hey Tim, how does this software interface with SSD Caching?

SSD caching? I'm not even sure what that is?

Of all the things Dimmdrive can do that are highly specialized to gaming, it can still act like a plain `ole hard drive. Just one that operates at INSANE speeds.

basically the motherboard syncs up a HDD with a SSD and moves frequently run programs to the SSD automatically so that you get SSD-like speeds on all your programs after the first time you run them (unless you haven't run them in a while, then the motherboard deletes them off the SSD to free up space on the SSD for more programs)

I'm definitely considering it just to try it out. Im at work but I'm thinking about it when I get home. How efficient is it to swap out games to load on ram? For example, I can only set 24gb of space but I want to play different games on ram. GW2 is 16 by itself, if I want to play another game, how fast is it to load from hdd to ramdisk? Is there a way to just have all games automatically load onto dimmdrive first before launching? or do I have to unload and reload each game manually?

You can load things in whenever. Dimmdrive syncs games with your hard drive, so there isn't really a "load out". Loading a game into DD is pretty fast even if it comes from a slowish HD. It doesn't matter too much since it's worth it :)

If you have a fast USB3 memory stick then check this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU8Re5O1yWY

In that video, loading from a slow HD is something like 2.5 minutes, and then using the USB3 Turbo, its like 5-7 seconds.

Sweet. i was watching some videos on youtube and noticed you had to sign in... do I have to be online all the time to use this?

Nope you don't :) See my answer in this post about that :)

SSD caching is irrelevant in this case because your game would be loaded entirely into RAM. It's faster than your SSD and whether you use your SSD for cache doesn't really make a difference.

I just ordered an extra 8GB of RAM from Amazon. I'll probably try Dimmdrive out when I install it on Wednesday. I'm hopeful. RAM has gotten relatively cheap, so this could be worthwhile. :)
