What's a good graphics card to get for gaming?

I have been thinking it's time to upgrade from my Nvidia Geforce GTS 450. I was looking at getting a 660Ti, but would looking at something from AMD be worthwhile as well? I am willing to go up to $250. Anyone know a good card?

get a 7950 for $199 ($179.99 after rebate) and get your choice of three games from the Gold Tier on AMD's Never Settle promotion. Take the $50 you saved and the $20 rebate debit card you will get in around 8 weeks, and have fun during the Steam holiday sale :)

You should go for the GTX 760 instead. It is probably the same price or even cheaper, and it has replaced the 660Ti completely since it also beats it in terms of performance. The 660 Ti has sort of become obsolete. So unless you can get a great deal on it, just go for the 760.

The AMD equivalent in terms of price and performance (well, comparable anyway) would be the 7950. AMD's never settle promotion is worth it too.
