Just multiply the 3 by 128. You are actually getting close to what they say you will get.

Also, I don't know what you have against Comcast. They have been pretty great for me in the past and I wish I could get Comcast where I am now.

What backwards hickville do you live in to get such a slow speed for $50.00 a month? I seriously could not live in a place that doesn't have access to fast internet.

I pay $9.99 a month for this :

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2984446333

it's 9.99 because it's bundled with my cable. Normally it's 29.99 a month. There's no data cap either.

Yea but you live near New Jersey.

No internet is worth that pain.

I'm in the same boat TC. $50/month for 3/1 internet+home phone.

You are getting what you're paying for, though, pretty much. 3/8=.375, or 375 kilobytes/second.

Or are we (the normal citizenry) all subjected to mafia style extortion rates for poor non existent services?

This sums things up.

Around here it's either 1 mbps DSL for $25 a month, 7 mbps for $35, or whatever comcast charges for theirs.

Not really. I live in CT. Jersey is 2 states away. The hartford server and NYC servers are closer but give slow readings on Speedtest during the daytime for some reason. It's always been like that.

Gamefaqs game rating system : 10 = Best Game Ever. 8-9. Crushing dissapointment. Below 8 :Total Garbage. This is getting ridiculous. people agreeing so far 105

Most of these "ISP's" lease their broadband from the major providers and then throttle the connection when they get close to that cap. Get yer milk directly from the cow I say. It's why I never had a problem with Comcast.

Megabits is not the same as megabytes you peasant TC.

Try learning to read before you agree to pay for a service.

Wow harsh much? For the average consumer, the difference between MB and Mb isn't exactly clear cut. Companies purposely do this to make their speeds look better, and TC unfortunately fell into the trap. I used to think the same until several years ago. Try being helpful instead of sounding like an ass.

And I can sympathize with TC on getting gutted for a crappy connection. TWC is the ONLY provider I can choose from in my apartment and they're charging me $65/month for 10Mb download speeds. And even then the connection isn't always good. It cuts out sometimes and lags in games.

It's not harsh. He is a peasant of the wort kind.

When I read Megabit for the first time, I had no idea wtf it was either. So I looked it up.

What does TC do? He comes to complain on a message board having no idea what he is talking about.

He is a peasant to the core.
