Listening to music, Foobar volume adjusts automatically

#1dlfPosted 9/22/2013 1:33:52 PM
This just started happening about 5-15 minutes ago. I'm listening to music through foobar and randomly the music seems to adjust it's self to be much quieter than it used to. Also, I was playing some PS2 (emulated) and the sound from that ALSO got adjusted automatically - without me touching a thing. Weird?

This could be what's causing it.

Sound>Playback>Right click on sound device>Properties>Enhancements>Uncheck Loudness Equalization.

Don't think that was checked (and it wasn't). It seems to happen with I turn on my Wireless xbox 360 controller (and or "disconnect" the batter(ies). Strange, eh?

This is a stretch, but I think it might be related to options in the 'Communications' tab.

Press the windows key, type "sound" and change the search to "Settings" in the right charm bar, then click on "Sound". In the Sound settings, click to the "Communications" tab, and change the setting to "Do nothing".

I'm only guessing at this in the off chance that for whatever reason your system is thinking that the controller connecting/disconnecting is somehow related to a microphone device.
