Yes, Windows 8 tried to fix it but it dun goofed.

No, I'm not going to jump ship to 1440p or above anytime soon. No reason for a moderate upgrade until we get IPS monitors with high enough DPI's that you can't visually see the pixels.

I am all for 4k gaming next year. As far as I know, the only options right now are either 30hz monitors or 60hz monitors that use two 1080p panels stitched together with no bezel in the middle.

Besides, even if great monitor options existed right now, $2000 SLI Titans don't give great performance at this resolution according to tomsharware. 4K gaming can wait until 2014 at least for me.

That link was pretty funny though how Nvidia themselves basically crap on all their products previous to 4K:

"Of course, to play games at 4K you’re going to need a top-end system, one that features SLI GeForce GTX 770s, GTX 780s, or GTX SLI TITANs.......4K truly is the next big thing, and once you’ve seen and experienced its awesomeness you’ll never want to go back to plain Jane resolutions ever again."

Show me a 4k monitor that is under $300 and then we'll talk.

can you explain? 1440p still looks better right? what do you mean when you say high enough dpi?

I can't find any monitors other than 1080's under 300 dollars.

High enough DPI that you can't see the pixels with the naked eye. Yes, 1440p typically has a higher DPI than most 1080p displays so it will look better.

I'm still fine with 1080p because I literally just bought a new monitor a few months ago.
