PC seems to take longer than it used to, to POST.

Over the last few months, whenever I boot up my PC, it seems to take longer than it used to, to POST. Basically before I hear the motherboard speaker "beep". Could this be hardware or software related?

You mean from a cold boot it takes longer and longer to see the Windows logo?

I mean, before the windows logo. When you see the BIOS logo screen, and waiting for the motherboard speaker to beep.

I have seen that sometimes when one of the SATA drives is having issues. Takes a bit more to be recognized by the system.

A client's PC was taking forever to boot, I unplugged the DVD drive and it started working fine again.
