2 year old 6870 bit the dust

I guess I'm in the market for a new graphics card now. I'm a bit torn with on what to do.. Still running an i5 2500k and haven't had a nvidia card before and I'm considering it but not sure what to look for. I was happy with the performance of the 6870 but can't find one online anymore. What would the equivalent be now days? I'm not looking to spend hundreds, I was hoping to keep it around $150.

For nvidia, look at a 650 Ti boost.

Spoil yourself and get a 7950.

I was looking at the 650ti boost already, but now seeing the 7850 it appears to be the better buy since I'm seeing them both at around the same price. I'll look around a bit.

Man I'd love to, it looks like a great value with that game voucher too. I just picked up a new modular power supply earlier not sure if I can break the bank just yet. Might be worth waiting a few weeks..

Check into a warranty regardless of what you do. Some cards have 3 year warranties. You could always sell the replacement 6870 if you want an upgrade.

If you can hold off for a few weeks in order to get it, that's what I'd do. I have a 7950 and think it's a pretty awesome card. It's given me great performance in pretty much every game I own at 1080p. Battlefield 3 is probably the most graphics intensive and with 2x MSAA (and everything else on high/ultra) I can keep a steady 60fps on 64 player servers. Some areas might drop to 50 here and there, but on the whole it's 60fps.

I also have an i5 2500k.

Weren't there some 7950 cards in the 200 dollar range within the past couple of weeks or am I imagining things?
