Brand new computer getting Adobe errors...please help

#1solosnakePosted 9/23/2013 7:02:01 PM
Just got this computer, and on almost every single webpage I get one of these errors or something similar:

typeerror error #1009 Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

also get typeerror #2007 Parameter listener must be non-null

No idea what these mean or how to fix it. Should I take the computer back?

That is most likely a flash error. Have you updated the flash plugin?

It could also be a problem with any add-ons you may have installed in the browser. Like video downloaders.

I don't know, Im pretty ignorant when it comes to computers. I did the recommended updates. How do I get updates for the flash plugin?

go here:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Uncheck the square that says "yes, install mcaffe antivirus"

click in download now.

run the program that downloaded

But seeing how you didn't know that, I am very confident that the problem is a plugin or add-on you installed in your browser.

Which browser are you using?

Yes, you have to download the whole 15 MB program.

Just for fun, go to add-ons in the tools section of firefox, and check what do you have installed.

Download Chrome, it has Flash natively so you won't have to deal with errors and updates if you are computer illiterate.
