That is still pretty cool. My 4770k runs up to 55 when playing Skyrim, it was OCed to 4.2 Ghz.

Put the fire department on speed dial so that when it catches on fire you may not burn to death

Lol are you being serious or no?? Skyrim on max didn't even send it up as much as dota max but crysis 2 max put it up around 70. I still don't really know whether or not these are acceptable levels.

70 degrees is fine, the cpus can go up to around 100 degrees before throttling but I would be concerned if you begin to see temps in the mid-high 80s.

Oh, sorry I forgot to add that I have an NH-D14 to cool my 4770k. I dare not OC with stock intel heatsink.

Seems a bit high. Are you using the stock heatsink? Is your room particularly warm? If the area you live in is naturally warm then there is nothing you can do but if you didnt buy an aftermarket heatsink I would advise you do, it will help with the temps if they are getting too high

Yeah, the stock intel cooler on Haswell is only good for the non-K versions, and only in areas with good ambient air temperature. If you got a K version, you will probably attempt to mess around and try to overclock at some points. Haswell is pretty hot from what I heard. For that reason, try to get an aftermarket cooler immediately.

The CM Hyper 212 evo seems like the most popular choice for Haswell, though many better ones are available.
