Any news on the new AMD Radeon cards?

They're coming out next month, right? Is there an official release date? Any specs besides on their top tier expensive Radeon R9 290X?

I just want a good mid-range card worth upgrading to, the 9850 or something. At a 560 Ti and I expect it to struggle a bit more with newer games.

Plus I want more VRAM.

Midrange card release usually months later. They put the high end on the market first.

The midrange cards are rumored to be rebrands of the current 7900 cards.

E.g. "9870" = 7970

So they're pulling an nvidia, essentially.

It makes sense to rebrand well designed GPUs like G92.

I thought AMD been doing that for a while too?
only the high-end cards are new, while the new mid-range cards are rebrands

Pretty much, it allows both companies to reuse their left over stock.

I'm just curious how long AMD will be keeping this series, last one ran awhile, but the tier under their 290X are all rebrands, which means those cards are technically already almost 2 years old.
