I don't make games anymore so no need to worry about that.

Darn, I enjoyed walking through the iced over dock watching it shatter into pieces, then being teased by the physics object torch that didn't emit footcandles while I walked down a hard to navigate pitch black staircase to see the spinning rock speaking in a strange voice to me.

I honestly had more fun messing around with your storygame than Dear Esther, what made you stop making them?

its hit and miss depending on what you want out of a horror game and if you can actually get into the games setting. TDD's horror consisted of 20% mind ****ery and atmosphere soak up and 80% tension in being chased down. AMFP is more like 80% atmosphere and head games and 20% being chased down. Both games do what theyre going for really well.

personally i loved AMFP just as much as i did with TDD, but for different reasons. Its world and atmosphere felt more unique and grimier in its approach. its use of voice acting and music was top notch, its storytelling was more intriguing and the whole thing conveyed a sense of constant uneasiness to the point where a lot of tension was in your own head. IMO thats the best kind of horror when a game gets you to question what you just saw or heard. Thats just as memorable for me than being chased down and AMFP did that quite well. TDD did this type of thing too, but it never felt as consistent as it did in this game.

but yeah its general gameplay did get a knock and i can see why people are being hostile to it, but that doesnt mean its not a good time in its own right, albeit even more niche now.

People actually got scared off of Amnesia? Really?!? That game was boring and not scary in the slightest.

Personal reasons. It's unlikely that my last project, Triptych, will ever be released. I needed to move on.
