All I really know about steam is that it's basically the pc version of the psn store and Microsoft marketplace. So will the steam boxes just let you play PC games without needing a good computer? Or let you play pc games on the tv (which I can imagine most PC users can already do). But if that's the case, I don't see the point of the steambox since most steam users would already have high end PCs to play games on. So yeah, just wondering if I'm assuming its functions correctly and what would be the point. --- Visit my youtube page for game and anime vlogs, and plenty of other stuff: http://www.youtube.com/user/BaoZakeruga?show_guided_help=1
The steambox IS a good computer. Well, some of them will be. They'll offer them at different price points, some that are just there for streaming, others that are meant to be the main gaming system you have. --- Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican. steamid: Rohchya
The steambox might target me. I enjoy PC gaming, but I don't care if I can max graphics or not, so a gaming prebuilt for a good price is a good deal to me. --- He who stumbles around in darkness with a stick is blind. But he who... sticks out in darkness... is... fluorescent! - Brother Silence
The Steambox is a computer that will most likely be sold at well over its worth, never think its a console.
A console has set specs and hardware and is a closed platform
The Steambox is being manufactured by many companies and has all the functionality of a regular computer.
The only reason to buy a Steambox is if you don't feel like spending an hour hooking up the single hdmi cable to your tv and the power cable for the computer you already have/can go out and buy for less than the steam box, install the OS, and buy a gamepad. All at a low low price of extra hundreds of dollars(unless its sold at a loss which will never happen for reasons that are too long to fit into one post)
