system restore

if i use system restore and use a backup from 2 years ago will it uninstall the things ive installed since then?
and will it clear space?

Yes it will. I did one that was a few months old by accident and it removed everything I installed before that restore point.

Possibly, it resets the Windows registry, drivers, certain other things. It won't remove any programs from your disc but it might remove references to them or require you to reinstall them if they use the Windows Registry for anything.

so if i need to clear alot of space doing this and deleting the folders of the installed stuff in program files folder should work right?

For programs you should just uninstall them properly - control panel > programs and features > double click on anything you wish to remove.

Deleting the folder will free up space but Windows will still think it's installed and programs sometimes put files in other locations which will be properly removed this way.
