My PC gamer friend got this list together for me. If you guys have any suggestions for different parts (that are around the same price) then tell me please.

It's just not an ideal build, IMO.

You could get a FX-6300 for the same price (although I would suggest an i5) and the HDD is overpriced. Just get a Caviar Blue. The motherboard is ok, but won't do that well with overclocking. It, also, doesn't support SLI so you won't be able to add another card later if that is something you may want to do.

At least go with the fx-6300 over the fx-6200. The 6200 is based on old architecture (Bulldozer) which was hardly a step up from the Phenom II.

What he said, now what's the budget you're shooting for here? Because you can bump up the performance a bit with some semi-minor increases in cost. And is this going to be strictly gaming or will it involve things like photoshop and video editing and s*** like that.

80 dollars more though, but much better and matching colors as well for style.

Not strictly gaming. I'm planning on using other programs like FL-Studio, Photoshop/Illustrator, the Maya 3D modeling program... Etc...

I'm trying to shoot for around 800.

You should go with an Intel build (better drivers, resale value for the processor) and switch the OS to Windows 7.
