Snuckie, are you planning on getting the new AMD R9 cards?

I know you're an avid fan of AMD and I have a GTX 680 but I'm too happy with it and I'm planning on getting the new 290x or whatever when it comes out. What are your plans?

No.

I'm upgrading when the new process node drops, and no, I'm not an avid fan of AMD.

This 7950 is the first AMD card I've owned, ever.

Didn't you have a 7970?

First topic I've seen in a while that specifically addresses one member of the board.

As far as I can tell only the top end card is even upgrade over current cards at all. Seems like kind of a waste. I thought AMD would make a whole new line but they pulled the same thing Nvidia did with the 7xx series except at lower price points, one new top card and a bunch of retreads.

Pretty disappointing, but I guess it just means my 7950 will last longer. =/

Edit: I suppose it's nice knowing this architecture will be fully supported for a while though considering it's use in the consoles though.
