are AMD cards capable of physx?

I read a thread on here where a guy said he has a Crossfire HD 7970 set up and he was running physx.

Then the 2nd poster said because of his GPU set up, it's no surprise he can use physx. So is it that you need a very powerful AMD set up to be able to run physx on an AMD card?

From what I understand, You can have a secondary Nvidia card and use hacked drivers to use Physx effectively.

Or, overclock your processor and do it effectively.

PhysX is nVidia-only technology. It is impossible to run it off an AMD card.

I don't think the video card handles the physx (AMD that is). I thought it was done with your processor.

No, AMD cards don't have any driver support fior CUDA so physx can't run on them. He was probably running physx on his CPU

Yes, like I said, it's impossible to run it off an AMD card.

I run physx on low in Borderlands 2 from my cpu. Putting it on medium or higher can make frames drop to 30 or even lower though.
