I bought the collector's edition of ME2 for $20. I haven't opened the box because I'm still on the first one, but doesn't sound likely they come with DLC I'm guessing.

When you open it, see if you have a Cerberus Network activation code as well as the game activation code. CN grants you some DLC, but none of the 4 big ones (Shadow Broker, Overlord, Kasumi, Arrival.)

Don't feel bad about that. ME2 is a great game, the Shadow Broker DLC, along with Stolen Memory are great and essential.

ME3 is a joke though. Leviathan and From Ashes should have been shipped with the main game, it's such a rip off. Two extremely important pieces of the puzzle to flesh out the story, and they are held hostage by EA for DLC sales.

Well, I just got ME3 as well for $6, so if the total price of the game is worth $20, I may still get them. I need to see what I think of the PS3 version though. Reserving judgment until I finish it (I'm only 3 hours in.)

Mass Effect 1 has the best story, 2 has the best gameplay and 3 is the horrible closer.

I always boot a game right after buying it, just to catch any issues while it's still fresh in my mind. Guess what? I let Origin download and install ME3, and it won't boot! After poking around for a while, I found out that Origin downloads a faulty file that prevents the game from launching (awc.dll) and once you replace that with the working verison, it works. Welcome to PC gaming, I guess. Or is it EA gaming?

If they'd release ME3 (or even the Trilogy, since I have 1 and 2) with the DLC as some Ultimate edition, I might consider it. I don't plan on paying $20 or so on the DLC after buying the game. And yeah, Shadow Broker was pretty good.

I've never tried the Mass Effect DLC. It can't be that important because I loved the games without it. I always thought the DLC was kind of comedy based/light hearted, weren't they?

Citadel was the only DLC that was really like that.

Mass Effect 1 DLC was practically nonexistent and therefore had little story impact, the ME2 DLC is more tied into the story in ME3.
