I've seen people joke about it, but what if "they" released a new kind of computer that became the new standard for computers called the PC2? And it had exclusive games that couldn't be played on the PC1?

It's a subject I know nothing about, but Quantum Computers and Biological computers are being developed, if that's what you mean. But if you mean someone making a really powerful pre-built computer and calling it "PC2" it would fail and the marketing guy would be shot.

Yes, and that would effectively be a games console and defeat the whole purpose of PC gaming which is namely freedom of use and customization.

So much money and so much waste. At this point, instead of criticizing apple, people shoud applaud them for making a inferior product and making billions out of it

Let's clarify that quantum computers are being *theorized*, but I'm not aware that anyone as yet has gotten a quantum processor actually *working*. There are some difficulties with it that I don't believe anyone has actually overcome yet.
