I'm actually surprised and disappointed that we aren't in those types of systems with high end gaming as well.

I swear, some technology has just come to a freaking crawl. Where are our human implants for phones and music? Where are our bionic HUDs in our vision? Where are our flying cars? Or, hell, where is our alternate fuel source!!!??

I think someone is keeping us in the stone age until it's all dried up. I highly believe that, actually. They have so much new technology, but why give it to us right now when they can milk us for every small increment inbetween? It's criminal! And we go along with it!! Curse humanity!!

Flying car was invented decades ago. Didn't work that well. Newer ones are better, but less fuel efficient. DoD is working on contacts that work similarly to Google Glass. Alternative fuel source, natural gass is getting there, as soon as we manage to deal with fuel leaks which are 100 times worse for the atmosphere than gas or diesel leaks.

Honestly, gas, wind, nuclear, and hydroelectric are all pretty much useless in the long run. From what I've studied, solar is the way to go. It has the highest energy potential as well as has an unlimited energy source. The main crux is figuring out how to store the energy to be used later in the day/a stormy day as well as creating a solar panel capable of absorbing a larger percentage of UV rays. The best panels cap at about 43.5%, but those are too expensive to be viable

As long as we need to eat, we'll be making methane. Natural gas is easy to make, just take anything that used to be alive and put it in a tank with bacteria that eat it and produce methane. There are dumps that run their entire trash truck fleets off of the natural gas they produce and have enough left over to power the natural gas production by keeping the bacteria at a higher temperature.

And that's capturing barely any of what's actually produced. Imagine how much methane just floats up off the massive piles of trash. Or the methane coming off our cows.

Hyrdo works really well.
Most of Manitoba is run from hydro power.

I remember reading somewhere that solar panels require a metal that is rare and in limited supply.

I don't think personal computing will deserve a name upgrade until it actually becomes a part of your person. When it uses the brains processing power and for storage and low battery means you need to eat then yeah its a lot more personal.

Gives horror to privacy and viruses though. Also imagine social networking will get even more awful. People subscribing to real time celebrity mind farts and dream sharing. Hopefully copyright will not exist in that future because everyone will be a criminal for such crazy destructive unauthorized use of mickey mouse floating through the clouds battling a dragon and drowning in a river of gin before suddenly waking up.

That new ultra-thin solar technology is supposed to be about 90% more efficient to manufacture than traditional solar cells, and is like 50% cheaper to boot. It's also flexible, lightweight, uses less material... Seems to really have the potential to finally make solar a realistic option for power.

It's a subject I know nothing about, but Quantum Computers and Biological computers are being developed, if that's what you mean. But if you mean someone making a really powerful pre-built computer and calling it "PC2" it would fail and the marketing guy would be shot.

What's quantum?
