NVidia Inspector VSYNC options

In the normal control panel SMOOTH and 1/2 refresh rate are under the same category but in NVInspector you can select both (Smooth seems to be for SLI setups to reduce micro stutter) my question is doesn't smooth work with 1/2 or am I just fooling myself?

Don't bother with that.

Just install the latest RivaTuner and use the D3DOverrider utility that comes with it. It forces triple buffering on all D3D games. Just disable the in-game v-synch and you are good to go. It works perfectly if you hate the tearing.

So Rivatuner is a better tool over inspector is does it just do the same thing?

Not sure what NI does. I use it mainly for overriding AA and AO or setting the proper SLI flags. I never used it for vsynch. I just know that D3DOverrider is proven to force triple buffering on D3D games which is what you want.
