I think it's clear that Valve does not care about hardcore single player gamers.

I have an old steam account from HL2 launch that has around 20 games, but I created a new account in late 2011 for Dota 2 that became my main which now has somewhere near 200 games, not to mention the 20+ I have giftable or haven't redeemed from Humble Bundles, etc.

With just some of the bundles sales during the summer you can get like 5-10 games for $10.

When was the last time Valve put out a quality single player experience? 2007 with Episode 2?

Is it too much to ask to give your loyal fan the gameplay experiences that they want? (Half-Life 3)

It seems they are focused on making multiplayer experiences and getting as much of the console market share as possible.

At this point Valve should just give the Half-Life license to fans and let them make a kickstarter Episode 3, it's obvious they have no intentions of making a sequel to Half-Life 2 after nearly 10 years. (semi-srs)

They've announced they won't be doing any more pure single player games a long time ago. Get over it or get over them. Your call.

Source? The only dev/publisher thats said anything like that has been EA, and even then all they said was that they would no longer make games that didn't have an online component, which still isn't the same as no making single player games.

lol @ 60 games. I've been on steam pretty much for only a few months (I've had it since way before but didn't start gaming again until a couple of months ago) and have 85 games. 60 in 9 years is beyond pathetic. You're not a fan, guy.

There's no money in hardcore single player gamers. They're the ones that wait for $10 prices on new games.

Your stingyness was your undoing.

They care, in a way. They've build great PC environment where many companies can sell these single-player games. Thanks to Steam, PC will even get some JRPGs. I don't think XSEED would bother otherwise..

like I said, it's unlikely you've even touched the wide majority of those. you're throwing money down the drain.
