I think it's clear that Valve does not care about hardcore single player gamers.

60 games and steam user since 2004. Questions the almighty valve. Sounds like a troller of the master race imo.

like I said, it's unlikely you've even touched the wide majority of those. you're throwing money down the drain.

I think having a huge library of games for my kids when they get older is a pretty good reason for having 170 games on steam alone. Countless other GOG games, as well as 30ish on Origin. That's my thinking with all of my hoarding... PLUS, what if the internet went down tomorrow?... forever... WHAT IF?!

...lol wow you're really optimistic if you think in this digital era all your Steam games are gonna be around when your kids get older. After all, you don't "own" any of these games. They can yank all your games away from you when they eventually go bankrupt or get bought out or whatever. I'm talking like 20 or 30 years down the road, not next year or something.

lol @ 60 games. I've been on steam pretty much for only a few months (I've had it since way before but didn't start gaming again until a couple of months ago) and have 85 games. 60 in 9 years is beyond pathetic. You're not a fan, guy.

Just about every single game on there that I haven't played it from Humble Bundles, and I always play at least one game in those bundles, so didn't really waste any money on them.

The market has been gradually shifting away from single-player only experiences for a while now, as there's quite a bit of potential money in it for publishers (more copies of the base game, MP DLC sales etc.). We've even seen MP modes shoehorned into traditionally single-player games/genres, that is certainly not a trend that's limited to Valve.

I'm sorry I'm not nerdy enough to buy 60+ games in a single year. Some people only have time to play a handful of games a year.

I love how diluted the term "nerd" has become, it used to denote some kind of intelligence, or breadth of knowledge in a certain area, now it's associated with anyone who has interests outside of Sportscenter, porn and MMA.

yea because it's impossible to back up all the game files from your steam account to a physical HDD. It's also impossible to find cracks for any of those games. We're not optimistic, you're being dumb.

60 games in 9 years boils down to about one new game every 2 months. I hate to tell you guys this, but good games don't come along nearly that frequently. They take years to craft. Most of what comes out in any given year is garbage. Y'all need to get some standards.

I think their standards are a bit too high perhaps, which is why they keep losing interest in games after they are not completely enthralled in the first 5 minutes, only to continue buying games and then dissect the minutia of the game on here/other forums.

I don't follow your logic. If their standards were too high, they wouldn't have bought most of those games in the first place, because they'd know by seeing a video, reading a review, or playing a demo that they were meh.
