The Witcher 1 & 2 vs Dark Souls, which should I play first?

I just finished GTA V and I feel like playing a medieval RPG now.

I want to finish either series until their sequel comes out (according to HowLongToBeat.com, The Witcher 1 & 2,s combined completion time is roughly the same as Dark Souls').

I already have all three games, I just need to install them...

That's the same order of quality I had in my head, but I'd have to play Witcher 1 before getting some Witcher 2 goodness, or go straight to Dark Souls.

No, do not play witcher 1 first it is very very long, you dont need 1 to understand 2

The Witcher 1 is kind of meh...The Witcher 2 is better than Darksouls, and also get the Combat Mod for the Wicher 2 it makes it much better.

It took me a year to finish The Witcher. The beginning of the game just seemed boring to me. The later parts of the game were better, though. I liked the story. Many people loathe the combat, but I actually liked it more than The Witcher 2's combat.

I started The Witcher 2 last summer and have yet to beat it. I'm in Chapter 2. The story is interesting enough, it's just that the pacing of the game and the combat push me away from it. What's also weird is that although the graphics are great, some of the animations and such feel poorly done. The combination of good graphics but poor animations/production gives me a weird feeling when playing it.

Dark Souls is a different story. The combat is good (I believe The Witcher 2 tried to make its combat work like Demon's Souls, but failed) and so are the animations. Graphics are okay, but can look great with a bit of modding. The storytelling is a lot different than most games, too. You have to sort of find the story for yourself. I personally think it's pretty cool, but some people hate it.

Dark Souls will also take a lot less time to install. Despite the small space it takes, the game could last you a really long time (I'm currently at like 160 hours and counting) and it's good for multiple playthroughs. Also, the multiplayer aspect adds an entire layer of gameplay to the game.

My vote is for Dark Souls.
