Don't be so harsh on the valvepad

None of us have even tried it out yet. It may be as revolutionary as the oculus rift for all we know.

None of us have tried that out either (most likely).

I give them credit for being the first in years to challenge the standard in video game controllers and the way things are

At least you know you were present at the conception of the name it will no doubt be labelled by the masses.

It looks better than any of the Big N's innuvashun controllers from the recent generations but I still think it needs work.

One big minus is the two action buttons next to the left pad. Many games you don't want to ever take your thumb off the left control like racing, for example. Moving your finger for even a second can cause you to crash. This makes it awkward to directly carry over bindings that were configured for a standard layout.

Another minus is the lack of a d-pad. First of all, sometimes you want a d-pad just for things like menu navigation. Secondly, not having one makes it impossible to directly carry over bindings that were configured for a standard layout.

I was thinking steampad earlier. And also steamstick (although it has no sticks).
