You guys know the controller has already been tested on a platformer, right?

Update: It looks like the folks at Double Fine already used the Steam Controller months ago, and impressions of the controller appear positive. Apparently they demo'd The Cave with the new device. Here is what Chris Remo and Jean Pual LeBreton from Double Fine tweeted today:

I used a Steam Controller a few months ago; the button configuration was different at the time, but the cursor pads worked amazingly well.

@firehair12000 Yes, it makes it feel like you're actually operating a real physically mechanical device, not just a touchscreen.

pic.twitter.com/JuzDV0z4kA Wish I could say "called it" but I knew Valve visited DF in June and demoed The Cave on their fancy controller.

I'll go and troll it blindly while I can instead, while sitting on my thumbs hoping my PS4 will release with more games then the Wii U.

Jking, launching up CSGO right now. Can't wait to try out the new controller for all my Steam games that require me to deal with half-broken PS3 controller drivers to play properly.

Yes, because they were ever going to say that the controller is a POS.

there's no agenda and no console marketing company buying their words so i'm inclined to believe every single one of them.

also, if valve had anything to hide they wouldn't you know.... ship out 300 of them for beta testing.

There are plenty of people who think the 360 d-pad was fine, so I don't really see your point.

- No d-pad
- Trackpads instead of analog sticks
- Horrible ABXY button placement
- Rebinding functionality already available in other, better controllers
- Overall bad design that I can pretty much guarantee I would find worse than my Logitech controller or keyboard/mouse

I don't care if it's been tested on a platformer, or if some people love it and want to use it for everything forever. I can tell from what I've seen that it's not something I want anything to do with.
